See Food Diet

For one week, I tracked all the food I ate. Before each meal, I recorded how delicious I thought the meal would be. After eating, I recorded how delicious it was in reality. This infographic displays when I ate and for how long. It also highlights the best, worst, most disappointing, and most pleasantly surprising food I ate.

Early in the project, I struggled with how much data I had collected. I couldn't think of a simple, interesting way to present the data. I decided to just lay out the data and let the rest fall into place. I designed the the “sidebar” first (tracking my meals through the time of day). From there, I added the pull-away boxes describing various meals. Once the basic layout was complete, it was a matter of refining the design (which is the fun part).
